Calming Wind Counseling Services, LLC is a group mental health private practice located at 9023 Forest Hill Ave in the Bon Air, VA area. We are a team of licensed mental health professionals who are driven to provide effective and humanistic counseling.
Through the use of evidence based practices Calming Wind Counseling Services providers utilize individual, couples, group, and family strengths to assist clients in building successful and enjoyable lives.
Calming Wind Counseling Services, LLC provides outpatient therapy, telemental health, clinical supervision, clinical consultation, and clinical education services. Through these services Calming Wind Counseling Services, LLC promotes the growth and development of clients, clinicians in training, and fellow clinicians.

Jonathan Ugalde, LPC
Executive Director of Operations and Finance & Therapist; Co-Founder
Jon is a trauma informed, person-centered, and systemic therapist believing in the power our experiences and relationships have on us. Jon’s clinical experience has been with those who are going through “Life’s Transitions” while working in substance use clinics, wilderness programs, community based mental health agencies, and outpatient therapy practices.

Robin Fore Martin is a licensed professional counselor who is certified in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and is a Board Approved Clinical Supervisor. Robin believes in meeting people where they are with their mental health and substance use needs while providing strategies and techniques to help them move in the direction of their choice.

Cortney is a passionate and motivated person centered therapist who pulls from the strengths of relationships to help clients’ develop motivation, and coping skills through the use of person centered therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and dialectical behavioral therapy. Cortney’s clinical experience working in group emergency foster care and community based mental health agencies has helped strengthen her passion for helping others develop respectful and caring relationships with each other.

Ashlyn is a licensed professional counselor with experience coming from community based services. Ashlyn has a experience with a wide variety of mental health needs, especially depression, anxiety, and trauma. She works with clients ages 13 and older, as well as families and couples. She emphaizes learning and using skills that are effective for each individual client to meet their goals. She uses a combination of person-centered, CBT, and DBT within a trauma-informed approach.
